Belorussian Peacekeeping Veteran supported the Museum
Former UN peacekeeper Konstantine Khomyakov resides in the city of Minsk (Republic of Belarus) now. Recently Konstantine Konstantinovich contributed into Museum funds a few papers and materials on UN peacekeeping. Among them there was the article of Colonel E.D. Doyle "Canadian study provides solid advice for UN" published October 28, 1995 in "The Irish Times".

The Conference "Leadership in Children Movement"
The scientific and practical conference under the title "Leadership in Children Movement: Time and Values" was taking place in the city of Minsk (Republic of Belarus) from March 31 to April 4, 2003. The conference was oraganized by Moscow government and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for about 100 researchers, teachers and leaders of children NGOs to come from Moscow and 20 regions of Russia, Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus. Article of former Russian Peacekeeper
Former Russian UN peacekeeper have analized the history of UN peacekeeping and came to the conclusion that the time for the Corps of really independent monitors of armed conflicts has come. The article under the title "Problems of the Use of Corps of International Monitors (Observers) in Armed Conflicts" was recently contributed into Museum funds. The author of the article was Alexander Vladimirovich Kuznetsov, veteran of UNTSO (1989-1992) and UN peacekeeping missions in Yugoslavia (1994-1995), a brilliant instructor of Russian UN Military Observer Course (USUNMOC) at the "Vystrel" Military Academy (1996-1999). Russian National Concept of Peacekeeping
Round table under the title "Reasons for Elaboration of Russian National Concept of Peacekeeping" took place in the UN Information Center in Moscow March 20, 2003. The speakers at the round table were Victor Tarusin, President of "Mirotvorets" Charity Fund, Sergey Lavrov, President of Interregional Organization of Veterans in UN Peacekeeping Missions as well as peacekeeping veterans Anatoly Isaenko, Eugene Komlyakov, Denis Tikhomirov and others. Coference on Patriotic Education of Youth in Moscow
Council of veterans of the Museum took part in the conference organized by Moscow government March 12, 2003 in Moscow (Novy Arbat, 36). In the course of the conference Mrs. Ludmila Shvetsova,Vice Mayer of Moscow handed over medals for bravery on the battlefield to a few veterans of the Second World War, while Mr.Vladimir Dolgih, chairman of Moscow veteran organization delivered a report on patriotic education of children and youth. Fair Deeds of Young Peacemakers in Republic of Belarus
Young Peacemakers of the Secondary School # 134 in the city of Minsk have organized Charity Fair to earn enough money to by presents for invalids and children ill with leukaemia and the cerebral paralysis. Later on they visited hospital and children's home and presented the gifts. For other activities of peacemakers of the Secondary School in 2003 see the plan.

Young Peacemakers of Vladikavkaz met President of Ingushetia
Young peacemakers of the Republic of Nothern Ossetia-Alania visited the city of Magas, the capital of the Republic of Ingushetia December 24, 2002 to take part in the round table on cooperation of youth. After the round table the delegations of two republics met with Murat Zyazikov, President of Ingushetia and have presented to him the tie of three colors (blue, red and green) - the symbol of young peacemakers of Vladikavkaz. First Session of the National Committee for the Celebration of Jubilee
The first session of the National Committee for the celebration of the 55-anniversary of UNTSO and the 30-th anniversary of Russian participation in UN peacekeeping operations took place at the UN Information Center in Moscow (Glazovsky pereulok, 4/16) February 12, 2003. Members of the session elected Dr.Valery Guerguel (Milob UNTSO 1973-76) as the Executing Secretary of the Committee and adopted in general the Plan of Activities for the celebration of the jubilee.

Festival of Sports "We are Peacemakers"
Festival of sports devoted to the 55-th anniversary of UNTSO and the 30-th anniversary of Russian participation in UN peacekeeping will be organized from February 28 to March 1, 2003 in Moscow by the Secondary School # 271 (Moscow, Tsander Street, 3) in cooperation with Peace Education Net. On this occasion the special currency "shkolyarik" was issued by the school parliament for the winners of the contests and competitions who will pay by shkolyariks at the school buffet for their soft drinks and the biscuits. It is already the 7-th festival to be organized by this Secondary School certified as School of Peace in 2001 and in 2002 by the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations. The Program. of the festival includes competitions in floorball, footvolley, chess and other sports.

New Exhibits of the Museum in 2003
UN peacekeeping veteran Vladimir Azarov has contributed into Museum funds his newly issued book "Perished for their Brothers" devoted to Russian grenadiers killed in Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. ISBN 5-87449-031-0.
Another contribution was the toy-bear presented by Captain Jennifer Cline (USA) who graduated from Russian UN Military Observer Course of the "Vystrel" Traing Center in Solnechnogorsk. At the graduation ceremony the captain and other graduates from Russia and other countries were awarded with RUSUNMOC graduation badge.
